MathWorks Grant Brings EiE to MA Districts
A grant from the Natick-based software company MathWorks to the Museum of Science, Boston will bring Engineering is Elementary to elementary students in three Massachusetts school districts. Two dozen elementary teachers from Haverhill, Brockton, and Lowell will attend an EiE workshop on August 9th at the Museum and receive EiE materials for their classrooms. Although this scholarship program is new, MathWorks has been a Museum supporter since 1991.

Engineering Notebooks Scaffold Learning
Keeping an “engineering notebook” brings several benefits for students. That’s one new finding from E4, EiE’s NSF-funded, large-scale curriculum efficacy study.  EiE researcher Jonathan Hertel presented research on notebooking on June 27th at the annual American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) conference.
